Dell Or Toshiba Laptop, Intel Or Amd Turion?

Thru this site, I learned that a laptop rather than a net book was better for me to travel. I am now looking at a Dell or a Toshiba. I’m trying to decide which processor to select that will last me about 5 years w/o trouble, Intel or AMD Turion. Also, I have a Dell desktop, and I’ve had trouble with the monitor. I’m wondering if I should try a Toshiba as I’m reading troublesome reviews about Dell. Any advice I receive would be very much appreciated! Maggie J, retired secretary

How Is The Performance For The Amd Turion Tl-62 Processor In A Notebook Computer?

I want it to perform well in Photoshop and Video converting. Other specs of the notebook are 64-bit vista. 4GB memory. 320 GB hard drive. Any reviews with this processor or know how it will perform?

What Pre-loaded Ware Needs To Be Removed From A Toshiba Satelite W/amd Turion Dual Core, 3gb, 250hd?

I recently purchased a Toshiba Satelite laptop and Best Buy wanted me to have the Geek Squad remove the preloaded ware that is not necessary. I declined that due to the expense. How difficult is it to remove the unnecessary programs and what are they? It came with Vista Premium.
Also, how well does the older versions of MS Office Suite perform with Vista? I heard there were issues.
Any help would be appreciated.

Both these laptops cost the same. They have the same size screen. I will be playing some older video games like Morrowind occasionally, but mostly for internet surfing, playing some dvds, Itunes/mp3’s, no multitasking.
Which would you buy?
Compaq Presario V6210CA
- Amd Turion 64 mobile MK-36 (2.0 ghz)
- Nvidia GeForce Go 6150
- 1 gig ram
- 80 gig drive
OR
Toshiba satellite
- Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T2060
- Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
- 1 gig ram
- 80 gig ram
I cannot find any reviews of the Compaq Presarios laptop as it’s only been out for a few weeks. I know that the dual core Intel is a faster chip than the amd turion, but one laptop has the seperate video card compared to integrated. Don’t know if this balances out the speed of these laptops or not.
