I’m going on an 11 hour flight and i want to use my MacBook Pro most of the time. Are there any ways to make the battery last longer (such as turn off wifi, dim backlight, etc). I would like to know how i can use the most of my MacBook

HP Pavilion – 2 months old
- AMD Turion X2 2.00 GHZ
- 1GB Ram
- Windows Vista Home Premium
- 17” HD Display
- N-Vidia Geforce 6150
- Western Digital 100 GB Hard drive

also i want to know how many hours it will last without the recharger plugged in. my last battery lasted 2 years idk, it kept overheating and the battery life kept going down fast once i took out the recharger. maybe i hav to buy a new cooling system to? wht do you think. [...]

My dad got it a few years ago for free for taking some night class about technology. Its a family computer, being used probably 10-30 hours a week. We have all noticed that the battery does not last NEARLY as long as it did the first year! Maybe like an hour using internet or itunes [...]

I am going to get a laptop in a few years and I’m not sure how long a Macbook Pro would last. (with the new 8 hour battery) If anyone knows how long it lasts, please compare it to a PC so i know how longer it would actually be.
