I run transmission, a file sharing client, and it uploads files to people, but if I leave it untouched for too long, my mac stops it. I need to keep it up and running, and I need to figure out how to keep the mac from closing applications because it thinks it’s saving battery. Ideas? [...]

I got a new notebook and I don’t want to mess it up like my desktop. Will it shut itself off, or does it cause harm to simply close it up in the middle of something?

I’m a former windows user and I’m getting a macbook black soon. I’m not really familiar with good mac compatible software.
