    how big is the file you are trying to copy?
    Did you dropped a liquid over the laser lense? like isopropylic? Those cd/ dvd recorders on laptops are so delicated…
    Consider that you are not trying to copy using the dvd option on your cd/dvd burner if what you want to do is to burn a cd
    If you want to burn a dvd (violet surface) but what you have is a cd writter on your computer, you won’t ever be able to do it.

    RIGHT CLICK ON CD ROM ICON IN MY COMPUTER
    CLICK PROPERTIES
    CLICK RECORDINGS
    CLICK ENABLE CD RECORDINGS ON THIS DRIVE
    OK

    Hello,
    Install some burning software such as Nero or Ashampoo and try it then.
    Mine did the same.
