I have a Seagate 160 gigabyte external hard drive. I have been able to use it on my Toshiba laptop with windows xp. But for some reason now my laptop won’t detect it. What went wrong? What can I do to have my external hdd be detected again on my laptop?

    try different usb port and different connecting cable
