I own an HP dv9000 laptop. I have backed up all of my files and want to do a system restore to take it back to the original factory settings (like it was new). I am unable to burn a disk for recovery, but am told I can do it without the disk. If you have any information on how I can restore the laptop without the disk, please let me know! Thank you in advance

There may be a way to do this wothout even burning a disc. Try this…
Go to start, and then all programs. You will now be presented with everything you have on your computer… roughly… now go to “accessories.” Under the tab called “System Tools,” there should be something called System Restore. Use this. Click Next, and use it to set your computer to the earliest possible date. All Done! congrats.

When you start up your PC you should get some information on the bottom of the screen.
For example:
F1 = Change Settings F8 = Boot Options F10= Recovery Management.
For me, it’s F10, it could be different for you, I’m not sure. It’s worth a shot though
