My disk drive was open and the computer fell to the floor. Now, the pieces are bent and it won’t go back in. How much can I expect the repair costs to be?

Anything from £30 to £300, depending on the damage…

It depends on the model of the laptop. It shouldn’t cost much. There is only a few screws that need to be removed in order to remove the drive itself (3 of them for my Satellite L45-S7423) This is a Do it Yourself repair really. Go on ebay and look for another drive….you will save lots of money doing it this way.

Go to http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/… and price the drive and cost to replace, also check these sites:http://www.frys.comhttp://www.QHT.com
You can find the phone number and contact info and then ask the price for replacement of drive.
