My Satellite M50 laptop has been reformatted to windows xp home. Now some of the hardware is not working i.e. wireless network etc… I have the product recovery dvd-rom along with the required product key. Can anyone advise me of the process to restore the system.
P.S. I have already tried placing the recovery dvd in the drive and using the F12 to boot from dvd on startup. This had no effect at all. The system just booted up like normal.
Any help would be appreciated.

When you bought your laptop it shipped with all the latest drivers (small programs that tell your computer how to run things like wireless, graphics, sound, etc.). But reformatting puts only the OS onto the system, not the drivers. You need to find out what hardware you have in it and then go online and find the drivers for each piece. Usually Toshiba can help in this regard.

pop in your product recovery dvd in the drive go to start control panel then system icon then hardware tab then device manager. the ones that are not installed right click then update driver and let it automatically search for the driver. if u need desktop assistance please don’t hesitate to IM me @ fpresiado1985

you have already reformatted your system, then why are u again restoring your system instead if any feature is non-functional you should install it’s driver and restart the system it will work also before installing driver go to device manager and check whether it shows yellow ? or ! mark.
